Students read a passage that compares tropical rainforests with temperate forests. Students answer questions about the reading passage.

Text Feature Application - Big Bend National Park
Students read a passage about the desert of Big Bend National Park. Students add appropriate text features based on the information from the passage.

Space

Planet Trading Cards and Reading Comprehension Students create trading cards for all of the planets. Then, they use those trading cards to answer questions about the planets. Makes a great reading or science center.

POV Nonfiction Scavenger Hunt Students read 2 reading passages about Pluto.  The author of one reading passage believes Pluto should be considered a planet, while the author of the other reading passage believes Pluto should NOT be a planet. Students go on a scavenger hunt comparing the two viewpoints.

Compare and Contrast Nonfiction Reading Passage with Scavenger Hunt Students read a passage about the inner and outer planets. Then, students go on a scavenger hunt where they have to compare inner and outer planets using the information from the passage.
